Who We Are

Established in 2014, Manchester Life operates as an investor, residential developer, place maker, and landlord across Ancoats and New Islington.

Manchester Life Development Company, the joint venture between Acre Real Estate Investment and Development LLC and Manchester City Council, coordinates regeneration activities and plans and develops homes.

Manchester Life Management Limited, owned by Acre, owns, and manages our rental buildings.

So far…

Manchester Life has delivered 1,500 homes across seven new developments and two historic mill conversions.

Over 30,000 sq—Ft of space for local businesses has been provided within the developments to establish a thriving neighbourhood economy.

The impact of Manchester Life’s work to transform the neighbourhood has been nationally and internationally recognised, with a vibrant community well-established and multiple participants now supporting the ongoing development in support of the city’s housing priorities.

Manchester Life and partners are now underway with the third phase of regeneration and development. This will provide a broad range of housing in the Poland Street area and New Islington and includes the Ancoats Mobility Hub to embed sustainable transport choices and last-mile delivery into the neighbourhood.

In line with Manchester City Council’s 2020 Neighbourhood Development Framework, the Poland Street area will transform in a way that provides:

Because we are the investor, developer, landlord, agent, and manager – we ensure that place-making, design, development, and management decisions are based on the long-term interests of our residents, community, and the city.

Manchester Life employs a Placemaker to build the residents’ community and ensure high retention levels, promoting community cohesion.

We were the first developer in Manchester to restrict sales of an entire development to owner-occupiers only to help build the community.

We do not market our homes for sale overseas or outside Manchester and do not require large deposits.

All our consultants must have a Manchester office to support local recruitment and job creation.
