Manchester Life Update: Planning approval granted for first two Manchester Life residential developments in Ancoats and New Islington

Manchester Life Development Company is delighted to receive approval from the Planning Committee to develop 302 one, two and three bedroom private rental apartments on Union Street in New Islington, and 124 one, two and three bedroom apartments for sale in the Grade II* listed Murrays’ Mills in Ancoats.
Today’s approval is for the first two of six development sites within Phase One of the Manchester Life initiative which will see more than 900 predominantly privately rented homes developed in East Manchester, helping to meet demand for high quality accommodation, and supporting the sympathetic and sustainable redevelopment of the Ancoats and New Islington neighbourhoods. Both developments will provide outstanding levels of customer service and a range of amenities and facilities on site.
Marty Edelman, Executive Chairman of Manchester Life Development Company, commented:
”We are really pleased with today’s approvals, which represent an important milestone in the emergence of Ancoats and New Islington as vibrant neighbourhoods. The approved plans for these schemes are the result of a year of development and consultations with the authorities and local community, and I’m confident that the first two developments will set new standards for residential apartments in Manchester”.
Construction work is set to start in autumn 2015 with completion by mid-2017.
