I am employed by GRAHAM Construction as one of nine Manchester Life Construction Management Apprentices.
During the programme I will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in many sectors within the construction industry, such as structural engineering, architecture, planning and construction by working for six diverse companies in four month placements.
Additionally, I will develop my construction knowledge and academic skills by undertaking a Level 4 HNC qualification in Construction and the Built Environment.
I have spent the first year of the apprenticeship working for multi-discipline engineers Arup, building contractors John Sisk and the Manchester City Council Planning Department.
Working at different stages of constructions projects has been enjoyable for me as I am now beginning to understand how a development transitions from concept to reality.
Being able to frequently work as part of a team, alongside experienced professionals has not only developed my skills and knowledge as a student of the construction industry, but it has also had a positive impact on my personal development. My confidence has grown immensely over the past year as I am regularly trusted by my superiors to handle new responsibilities and tasks.
