connor gregoryI’ve had a flying start to my Manchester Life apprenticeship. I am currently on my first placement at JM Architects, where I am learning about the role architects play in the construction industry.

Working on model drawings has given me greater knowledge on the design side of construction, and the key role architects play from initial concept through to competition.

I have regular meetings with my Sisk manager to discuss how I am getting on, and also participate in Cotton Field Wharf design team meetings. My next placement will be with Graham Construction, where I hope to gain on site knowledge and technical experience.

Throughout my first 4 months as an apprentice I have learnt how to time manage and keep up with deadlines – which is essential due to its fast paced environment. I am eager to pick up more skills and the knowledge needed to be successful in the industry, and hope that each placement are stepping stones to a career in construction management.
