I joined Manchester Life in August 2015 as an eager to please apprentice in a growing world of construction. Twelve months on I feel I have grown and matured into a budding young professional ready for a big challenge.
So far I have been involved with procurement for an extensive public realm scheme as well as the planning of a multi-phase regeneration project. Whilst working on site I used CAD skills I learned in College to successfully design a system for fixing part of the glazing to a curved façade which was a challenge and a success. The best thing about my experience so far is being part of the team of people working towards bringing a historic part of Manchester’s rich history – Ancoats and New Islington – back to ‘Life’!
Being from Gorton in East Manchester it has been a thrill to work on developing areas close to my own home and to have an insight into how the skyline of Manchester is going to change over the next few years.
As the city grows and develops so too do its people and Manchester Life is not only setting the benchmark for property in the area but setting the benchmark for the personal and professional development of the city’s youth, and I am proud to be part of that.Back to apprentices
